Becoming an Entrepreneur: Embracing Challenges and Family Support

Chapter 1: A New Venture Begins
Dear reader,
Just yesterday, I took my first step into the realm of business negotiations. Currently, I am attempting to purchase a venture, but starting with virtually no funds presents a significant challenge—yet, I’m determined to make it happen.
To provide some context: Last year, I was employed at an accounting firm where I gained valuable insights into the financial aspects of various businesses, particularly clubs and cocktail bars. When this opportunity arose, I felt a mix of fear and confidence, thanks to the knowledge I acquired.
During my initial discussions with the seller, I had the guidance of my former boss. Together, we explored the optimal agreement for both parties. Initially, the price was set at €70,000, but we’ve managed to reduce it to €50,000, which is a substantial discount.
The real challenge lies ahead: €50,000 is still a considerable amount, especially when starting with nearly nothing. So, where can I find this funding? That’s the pressing question at hand.
Until now, I’ve explored various avenues—working extra hours, brainstorming new income streams, and seeking potential partners for financial collaboration—but nothing has materialized. I even considered asking my parents for a loan, but that would place me in a position of debt, which I’d prefer to avoid.
What lies ahead feels like a significant leap of faith. I’m doing my best to save every cent, even though I’m currently earning just €1,600. I believe that every little bit counts, yet I remain skeptical. Filled with aspirations and confidence in my potential, I struggle to convey this to others. It’s akin to possessing the secret to happiness but being unable to share it, ultimately rendering it meaningless.
Frustrated and feeling stagnant, I turned to someone I trust implicitly: my brother. When I shared my ambitions with him, he simply said, “Call me later; we need to discuss your club.”
In an instant, all my fears and doubts dissipated. I realized that I have the backing and assistance I didn’t even ask for. This experience taught me a profound lesson: Family will always stand by you, even if they don’t fully agree with your ideas or opportunities.
