Title: Transforming Your Cleaning Routine: Embrace Simplicity and Wellness

Written on

Chapter 1: Rethinking Cleaning Products

In the past, I relied heavily on powerful commercial cleaners like Easy-Off Bam and Cillit Bang, believing they were essential for maintaining a germ-free environment. While they were effective, I often found myself irritated by their chemical smell and the way they felt on my skin. Although I occasionally wore gloves, I frequently cleaned with bare hands, which wasn’t the smartest choice.

I used streak-free glass cleaners, dish soap for my dishes, and enjoyed fragrant candles. Unbeknownst to me, each of these products was introducing toxins into my home and body. This realization only dawned on me after a transformative spiritual awakening, which heightened my awareness of their harmful effects.

Now, my cleaning routine is straightforward and remarkably cost-effective. I only require three ingredients to keep my entire home clean:

  1. Castile Soap
  2. Pure Baking Soda
  3. White Vinegar

Homemade Cleaners for Every Corner of Your Home

I purchase these three items in bulk, minimizing my shopping trips to just twice a year. Castile soap serves multiple purposes: I use it to clean dishes, tackle stains on furniture, and even remove marks from walls and doors left by children.

The Power of Vinegar

I create a vinegar-water solution (equal parts vinegar and water) in a spray bottle to clean mirrors and windows. Surprisingly, this mixture leaves my glass completely streak-free. The pleasant smell of vinegar dissipates as it dries, and I also use it to sanitize surfaces like tables, kitchens, sinks, and toilets. This natural solution is not only effective but also boasts antibacterial properties, helping to eliminate germs.

Baking Soda: A Versatile Ally

Baking soda has become an essential item in my household. I use it to wash fruits, clean burnt pans, and tackle stubborn stains. For mold in the shower or other areas, a combination of baking soda and vinegar does wonders.

I haven’t needed expensive cleaning products in years, but what about those delightful scented candles?

After learning about the dangers of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in commercial candles, I completely eliminated them from my home. Instead, I now burn Sage, Palo Santo, or Cinnamon for a pleasant aroma and positive energy.

The Journey to Change

This transformation wasn’t planned; it emerged from a deepened awareness of my body and surroundings. My senses have become more attuned, making it difficult to tolerate the strong scents of commercial cleaners. I cherish the light scent of vinegar that quickly fades, leaving behind a neutral atmosphere.

Adopting this natural approach has proven healthier for my well-being and more economical. Society often pushes certain products and habits upon us, but now is the time to question everything.

We must reconnect with our higher selves and learn to heed the signals our bodies send us. Together, we can foster a healthier world.

Feel loved, feel embraced.

Namasté,

Alina
