Greetings, passionate readers and dedicated writers! In this episode, I’ve compiled a selection of my favorite narratives along with community-nominated submissions, specifically curated for the enthusiastic audience of ILLUMINATION Publications on Medium.
As our community grows, we’ve welcomed numerous new writers, amplifying our collective output. I discussed this in my prior collection, so feel free to extend a warm welcome to our newcomers and dive into their contributions. Due to the increasing influx of submissions, we've encountered some delays in publication. Our dedicated team of 30 editors is working diligently to manage the expanding backlog, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding during this busy period. If our new writers adhere to simple guidelines—like including captions for images and self-editing their work—we can expedite the publishing process.
Just yesterday, while in the ILLUMINATION Slack workspace, Mike shared his latest story with me. I found it delightful and engaging. I’m looking forward to reading Seda A.'s story later, as Mike's enthusiasm for it has piqued my interest.
My own collection was brief due to a hefty workload, yet I managed to draft a short piece tailored for fans of gaming and sci-fi. I hope you find it enjoyable: Halo: Redshift—A Cooperative Halo Campaign Mod.
Mike also took a brief respite, which our chief suggested, and he penned a humorous yet poignant piece titled, An Advice to ChatGPT on Its Hilarious Demise Because AI Apocalypse Should Be Funny, Too. Be sure to check out his new collection filled with remarkable narratives.
Chapter 2: Noteworthy Contributions
Among my top picks is a standout article by Lawson Wallace featured in ILLUMINATION-Curated. His journey on YouTube has been inspiring, and he shared valuable insights along the way. Lawson has been a long-time editor at ILLUMINATION, generously supporting our writers.
In addition, I delved into some compelling research pieces by Dr. Yildiz that address vital health issues, such as Why Black Youth Die from Asthma 7 Times More Than White & Potential Solutions and Research into Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the US Indicates in All-Cause of Mortality Among Young People.
Mike curated my emotional piece inspired by moving Australian films, titled, An Exceptional Story That Brought Tears to My Eyes Today.
If you’re new to our publication, Dr. Yildiz recently extended an invitation from his secondary account, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz (Tech), which I found incredibly motivating. Below, I’ll briefly outline the new publication along with its submission guidelines.
Invitation to a New ILLUMINATION Publication: "Health & Science"
We are thrilled to announce a new publication called Health & Science, part of the ILLUMINATION group. Dr. Adam Tabriz has joined as a contributor, and he will also assist as an editor. We are in need of experienced editors like him, so let’s show our support!
Dr. Tabriz has launched a specialized publication that we will introduce in more depth soon. Writers and readers are encouraged to participate, and applications can be submitted through our writer registration portal.
Recently, I was struck by Dr. Yildiz’s thought-provoking article that critiques an immature study suggesting intermittent fasting could heighten heart disease risk by 91%. His piece, Perfect Storm in a Teacup: Can Intermittent Fasting Increase Heart Disease Risk by 91%?, resonated with me personally, especially as I practice time-restricted eating and have seen significant health benefits.
In response, I wrote a new article presenting the viewpoints of four leading experts in the field titled, Why I Believe Fasting Doesn't Cause Heart Disease But Obesity Does.
As a milestone, ILLUMINATION is now celebrating its fourth anniversary! Happy 4th birthday to our beloved community! Recently, Dr. Yildiz authored two inspiring articles focused on women, titled Breast Cancer: Why Every Woman (& Man) Should Read This Empowering Story and Why and How to Support Women in Tech and in Other Male-Dominated Sectors.
In an effort to boost our membership, Dr. Yildiz shared links to some of his enhanced stories to entice non-members to join Medium. I plan to follow his suggestion as reading ratios are currently low. He encourages fellow writers to create similar collections for ILLUMINATION-Curated.
