When I founded A Smiling World in October 2022, my goal was clear: to establish the most uplifting publication on Medium. I envisioned a platform where writers from diverse backgrounds could foster a nurturing community centered on self-betterment.

My Experience As A Medium Publication Founder
I launched my publication just three weeks after conceiving the idea.
Fast forward nine months, and I am thrilled by the vibrant community that continues to grow, spreading positivity worldwide. We currently boast over 600 followers and 200 contributing writers, affectionately known as our Smilers.
What We Publish
Our focus is on narratives that encourage readers to learn, evolve, think outside the box, or embark on new ventures. We cherish authentic accounts where writers convey their personal experiences.
- Will the narrative motivate the reader towards self-improvement?
- Is the tone optimistic?
- Does it bring a smile to your face?
If you can affirmatively answer all three, your piece is a perfect match for us!
What We Don't Accept:
- Listicles
- Poetry
- Any content that strays from the self-improvement theme
Editing Process
While I strive to be kind, my editing can be stringent. This is solely to assist writers—especially newcomers—in enhancing the quality of their work and flourishing on Medium. My own journey was challenging, and it has taken me 422 articles to reach my current status.
Though I’m not a professional editor and English is my second language, I won't correct spelling errors or grammatical issues. However, we uphold strict formatting standards because we want your story to shine; poor formatting can stifle your writing's potential.
