What you truly need is to keep pushing forward until you reach a point where you're utterly fed up with yourself. Only then might you find the motivation to change your circumstances. I've spent years wallowing in self-pity, often resorting to drinking, but I'm finally seeing significant progress.
My relationship with both myself and my girlfriend is improving, my health is stabilizing, and I've lost 12 pounds. I'm focusing on establishing consistency in my actions and creating some order within my chaotic thoughts.
Every single day, I commit to certain habits regardless of how I feel—no excuses! I prioritize nutritious meals, stay hydrated, eliminate sugar, and incorporate exercise into my routine.
One vital aspect to accept is that setbacks are part of the journey. The road to change will not be smooth, and it's crucial to embrace this reality. When you stumble, pick yourself up and keep going. More importantly, you need to desire change more than anything else. Change should become as essential to you as air itself.
The process will be challenging—there will be times when it feels unbearable. You may want to find someone or something to blame, but the truth is, there’s no one to blame but yourself. Reflect on your journey. What aspects of your character or values need a significant transformation?
While it might be easier for me to sit back, indulge in unhealthy habits, and blame my past traumas for my circumstances, I've grown weary of that self-destructive cycle.
Get up, move your body, and stop consuming unhealthy foods if that’s your habit. These two changes can dramatically alter your life. By simply implementing these steps, you’ll already be ahead of 90% of others who remain stuck.
Stop making excuses and just begin. Some days will be more challenging than others, but it’s within those struggles that you’ll find growth. Learn to appreciate the difficulty and invite it into your life.
It doesn't matter how small your initial steps are. The key is to take that crucial first step. Now, go!
