Chapter 1: The Best Camera Is the One You Have

There's a well-known saying: “The best camera is the one you have with you.” In this section, we explore the most remarkable photos captured with the cameras I had on hand, focusing on my experiences from fall 2017 to summer 2020, particularly with the iPhone SE.

As I learned that I could replace my iPhones annually at no cost, I remained within the Apple ecosystem. While smartphone sizes continued to grow, my preference for a more minimalist approach urged me toward smaller devices. Plus, I was weary of smartphones bending in my pocket. Thus, I opted for the iPhone SE, even though it had its own challenges.

Despite a battery explosion, the camera was an essential tool—always at the ready in my pocket. This convenience was the primary reason I wanted a smartphone in the first place. I embraced the panoramic mode, using it more frequently as I reduced my reliance on carrying DSLRs daily. After going through a couple of models and several battery replacements, I finally upgraded to the SE2.
