Are men really as bad as some people claim? The phrase "men are trash" circulates often, but is it a fair assessment?
To illustrate my point, let me share a personal experience. During my first year of college, I befriended Greg, a tall, athletic guy from Flushing Queens, who had the charisma that attracted many. He was, without a doubt, the quintessential college heartthrob.
Everyone adored Greg, and I was no exception. He made me realize that women weren't too superficial to appreciate my qualities; rather, it was my lack of hygiene after basketball and my empty wallet that made things tough. Instead of dismissing me, he helped me land a job at the student center and even lent me some of his clothes.
Months into our friendship, we found ourselves at a college party on Long Island. At around 2 AM, we needed a place to sleep. Raquel, a girl Greg was seeing, offered us her room. Her roommate was away, so I could take the bed while she shared hers with Greg.
