Celebrating Curated Stories and Community Contributions

Chapter 1: Introduction to Episode #129

Greetings to our passionate readers and talented writers! Welcome to episode #129, where I share my favorite tales along with those nominated by our dedicated editors and community members. Due to a surge in submissions at ILLUMINATION, I was unable to post yesterday.

The sheer volume of content we receive makes timely reviews challenging, particularly with a small team of just 30 editors. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Today, we proudly welcomed 200 new writers to ILLUMINATION and our other publications. I’ll soon introduce them through a special curated collection designed to help them learn from highlighted stories.

In a recent update, Dr. Mehmet Yildiz shared links to some of his standout stories, encouraging non-members to join Medium. I plan to heed his advice, as the reading ratios have been low. He advocates that writers create similar collections and promote them on ILLUMINATION-Curated or other publications. Here’s his invitation for collaboration:

Thank you for engaging with and sharing these unique narratives about health and wellness that resonate with a wide audience.

Section 1.1: Policy Changes on Monetization

As a recent development, we've informed writers associated with the Lampshade publication that monetization of their content is no longer permitted. However, there are no restrictions on human-generated content.

A notable announcement came from Mike, who created a satirical featured collection recently. I would love to follow suit and curate exceptional stories in a similar manner.

Subsection 1.1.1: Does Medium Still Flirt with Controversy?

I certainly hope not! My experience with X has not been pleasant, as I was penalized for sharing a snippet of an exceptional curated story.

Chapter 2: Weekly Boosted Stories Overview

I compiled a list of boosted stories last week, and a new collection will be available soon. We currently have 34 new boosted stories that I believe you will find enjoyable.

I also provide links to previous boosted pieces for new readers and aspiring writers, serving as examples of exceptional storytelling.

Here’s Mike’s latest collection filled with captivating stories:

Section 2.1: Introduction of a New Publication

As many of you know, Mike has curated 100 collections thus far. He has now launched a new publication focused on health and science, where we will begin nominating outstanding stories. He has shared his submission guidelines and graciously invited me to serve as an editor. I look forward to curating stories from this exciting new space.

Let’s extend our congratulations and support to Mike as he champions our writers and readers. Here are the submission guidelines for interested contributors:

Section 2.2: Celebrating Four Years of ILLUMINATION

By the way, ILLUMINATION recently celebrated its fourth anniversary! Happy birthday to our cherished community! Mike has penned two inspiring features on women’s empowerment, both of which are deeply impactful. You can check out his articles on important topics like breast cancer awareness and supporting women in tech.

Section 2.3: Personal Reflections on Health Research

I recently read an article by Dr. Yildiz that struck a chord with me. He cleverly addressed a study claiming that intermittent fasting could increase heart disease risk by 91%. As someone practicing time-restricted eating, this claim seemed unfounded given my improved health. In response, I penned a new piece featuring insights from four leading experts in the field.

Why I Believe Fasting Doesn’t Cause Heart Disease But Obesity Does

This article presents informed views from seasoned researchers and health professionals sharing their thoughts on the topic.

Daily List for Sharing — Volume 129

I took the initiative to compile a list for easy sharing. You can spread this collection across platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Reddit, or Quora.

For those interested in boosting their stories, Dr. Yildiz’s attached article is essential reading, answering many frequently asked questions with clarity and passion.

The Boost on Medium: Answering Most Frequently Asked Questions for Beginners

Since its launch, the Boost initiative has inspired many writers. However, it remains in the pilot phase and requires careful navigation.

Recently, it came to our attention that someone was selling claps and highlights on Fiverr! Our editorial team has issued a warning to new writers to avoid falling for such scams, as Medium may suspend accounts engaged with these illegal services. We’ve identified over 300 individuals selling these services, and we’ve only managed to catch one.

Writers, Resist the Urge to Purchase Guaranteed Claps, Comments, & Highlights Available for Sale…

An urgent call to remain vigilant against deceptive practices in the writing community.
