# Mastering Morning Productivity: How I Check Off My List by 9 AM

In my earlier years, I was not a morning person at all. It wasn't until I reached my 30s and started a job requiring me to rise early that I had to adapt. Initially, I would scramble out of bed as late as possible, quickly dress, and rush into the day. My daughter shares my aversion to mornings, so we both aimed to get ready as efficiently as possible.

After welcoming my second child, I began allocating just 10 minutes each morning for light exercise while my coffee brewed. Prior to this, I had never utilized my mornings for self-care or personal time. That brief workout quickly evolved into a 30-minute yoga session. Practicing yoga in the mornings helps me feel grounded and focused as I start my day, providing essential "me time" in the life of a busy working mother.

I engage in affirmations daily, and writing them down helps me cultivate a positive mindset for the day ahead.

Chapter 2: Prioritizing Self-Care

One key takeaway from my mornings is the importance of prioritizing self-care. When life gets hectic, it may seem tempting to neglect self-care; however, the opposite is true. The busier you are, the more essential self-care becomes.

The more effectively you care for yourself, the more adept you become at managing daily stresses. This aspect is vital for thriving in a fast-paced lifestyle.

Section 2.1: Streamlining Your To-Do List

Another lesson I learned through my coaching was to simplify my to-do list. Instead of allowing it to balloon into multiple pages, I focus on identifying the top 3-4 tasks to tackle each day. This approach enables me to concentrate on what truly matters without feeling overwhelmed.

This morning, for instance, my objectives included practicing yoga, editing for The Orange Journal, and completing my German class homework. I rose at 6 AM, and by 8:15, I had accomplished everything on my list. After breakfast and a little more coffee, I plan to attend my German class, followed by an enjoyable afternoon with my family.

I genuinely hope that these insights on prioritizing self-care and streamlining your to-do list assist you in maximizing your daily productivity! While I don’t consistently complete my to-do list this early, I often do. The only exceptions might be phone calls I need to make later in the day.

Since I will soon resume full-time work after completing my German classes, I must fit in personal tasks within the initial hours of my day or wait until after 5 PM. Your situation may differ.
